Dr. Robert J. (Bobby) Bonometti is a nationally recognized expert in strategic planning, technology management and advanced research and development. His areas of expertise include business development for advanced high-payoff rapid-time-to-market products, technology benchmarking and competitive analyses, executive decision support systems, computing and communications networking and interoperability, advanced telecommunications and radio technologies, and space systems.
From 1995 to 1998, Dr. Bonometti was Executive Director of Technology Strategic Planning for Bell Atlantic Corporation, a Fortune 100 company. His responsibilities included corporate-level business strategy and planning for emerging and advanced technologies. Dr. Bonometti served at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) from 1993 to 1995. At OSTP, he was responsible for technical and policy analyses in the areas of information and communication systems, space systems and technologies, and technology transfer. As Program Manager for Advanced Communications and Space Technologies at ARPA from 1988 to 1993, Dr. Bonometti was responsible for technical and business management of a portfolio of programs with aggregate valuation of about $140 million, and annual expenditures of about $20 million. He served as space flight Mission Director for two launch missions.
Dr. Bonometti lives with his wife Ginny and their pets in Winchester, VA. His biography appears in a number of prestigious reference works, including current editions of Whos Who in America and Whos Who in the World. Since February 1998, Dr. Bonometti has served as President of Strategic Technology Decisions, a consulting company of MGB Enterprises, LLC. He has served as Professor of Information Systems and Computer Technology in the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University since April 1999.
