Shenandoah University Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy is a wonderful atmosphere in which to learn and grow both professionally and personally. It provides a innovative yet personal approach to the profession. I enjoy being able to practice pharmacy and teach students from my experiences.


Education

Dr. Johnson completed pre-pharmacy studies at the University of Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctorate of Pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed a Hospital Pharmacy Residency and Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals.


Fields of Expertise

Dr. Johnsons interests include spirituality in health, anticoagulation including pharmacogenomics applications, adverse drug reactions, and pharmacy residency teaching certificate programs.


Professional Highlights

Dr. Johnson is currently an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of Postgraduate Education at the Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, Shenandoah University. He maintains an acute care pharmacy practice in internal medicine at Winchester Medical Center. Prior to this, Dr. Johnson served as Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator at Winchester Medical Center. Dr. Johnson previously held positions as a clinical pharmacist at Shenandoah Shared Hospital Services and the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Personal Highlights

My wife, Gretchen, is also on faculty at the School of Pharmacy. We have 2 children, Meredith who is 12yo and Parker who is 9yo. We enjoy doing many activities together as a family. We are members of First Presbyterian Church in Winchester.
