Professional Highlights

  • Kirsten Trump previously taught at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York, West Virginia University, and Shepherd University.
  • She worked as a voice and dialect coach for the Contemporary American Theater Festival world premieres of Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Lee Blessing’s Thief River and Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Keith Glover’s The Rose of Corazon. She also coached the world premiere of Catherine Filloux’s The Silence of God. Other coaching credits include Sam Shepard’s The Late Henry Moss and Stuart Flack’s Homeland Security.
  • In 2003, she was named West Virginia’s Theater Teacher of the Year for secondary education and she now serves as the coordinator of the Contemporary American Theater Festival Teacher Training Institute.
  • Her performance work includes a national tour of Romeo and Juliet with The National Theatre of the Performing Arts of New York, with the Contemporary American Theater Festival, and as a guest artist at Shepherd University. She performed in one of a series of workshops of Sheri Wilner’s Father Joy, which has been nominated for the prestigious American Theatre Critic’s award for Best New Play for 2005.
  • Kirsten Trump is a certified actor/combatant with The Society of American Fight Directors and appeared on NBC Sunday Morning with Fight Master David Leong. She is a member of Voice and Speech Teacher’s Association. Additionally, in 2004, her original play Migrant/Migrante/Trabajador was premiered at Shenandoah Conservatory, produced in partnership with the History and Tourism Center; the play has been used as an advocacy tool for the growing Latino communities of the Shenandoah Valley.
