I teach at Shenandoah University because of the outstanding collaboration that occurs among the faculty, staff, and students. The emphasis on service and research in connection with the community serves to bring about the highest possible learning.

Dr. Schultzs research interests are in adult learning, collaboration of educational practices of Kindergarten through higher education and health care. Public Service and government relations are also an area of focus and interest.
The greatest achievement is to hear from our graduates of all the wonderful things they are doing! I am honored to have recieved the university-wide exemplary teaching award in 2009 and the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Service Award in 2005.
Dr. Karen Schultz has been at Shenandoah University for over 25 years. Her teaching has won national recognition for innovations in teaching and her Service Learning Course has contributed to more than 10,000 hours of service and achieved national recognition. Karen is a recognized community leader and has lived in the Shenandoah Valley for 28 years. She has been a health care practitioner and educator, devoting herself to service, to community, and family.
